Having played music for two days in November at the Banbury Winter Market, in the run up to Christmas the new Radio Horton trailer was afterwards seen at several locations around town playing festive music to entertain shoppers.
Volunteers from the hospital, health and wellbeing broadcaster were at the Banbury Gateway Retail Park, Tesco’s on Lockheed Close, Sainsbury’s on the Oxford Road and Morrison’s at Swan Close Road.
During this time the station raised almost £1,900 in collections and donations to support its charitable activities
Radio Horton Chair, Ann Dunn said: “We were delighted that we were able to be out and about with our new trailer and thank the shoppers and staff who came to see us for their kindness and generosity. We recognise that times are difficult for everyone, so we really do appreciate every penny. As we are completely self-funded and our overheads are increasing all the time, the collections are vital fundraisers for us.”
Bill Warren, Radio Horton’s events organiser added “We would also like to thank the estate owners, managers and staff of the shops for allowing us to be at their stores.”
