June was a very busy month with Radio Horton attending several events.
Radio Horton was delighted to be at the Middleton Cheney Fete on 7 June with our Radio Horton trailer, providing music throughout the event.
This was our first time at this event so a big thank you to the organisers for inviting us along – we had a fantastic time! We’d also like to thank all of our volunteers (Lewis, Anthony, Dave, Ann, Sam & Kevin) for their hard work and support in helping the day run smoothly.
What a fantastic day at the Banbury Show on 13 June.
A huge thank you to everyone who came over to say hello to the Radio Horton team. We had an amazing time playing music, chatting with visitors, taking requests, and being part of such a brilliant community event.
It was a great event, camel shows, BMX stunts. Mark Perret the organiser from town council was very pleased and we received a nice email with positive feedback.
Thanks to Olga, Tom, Dave, Sam, Ann, Elaine, Lorraine, Veronica, & Bill.
Thanks to Olga, Tom, Bill and Lorraine e were able to be at Planting in the Park on 17 June.
Schools from across Banbury once again took to the Rose Garden in People’s Park to decorate the flowerbeds with beautiful flowers and specially made centrepieces! This year’s theme was ‘100 Years of Winnie-the-Pooh’ and as you can see the schools all did some wonderful tributes to the world-famous bear!

Our team had a lovely day. And received good feedback “an extra big ‘thank you’ to Radio Horton who provided an absolutely terrific soundtrack to the day!”
On 19 June, Radio Horton returned to Middleton Cheney, this time to the Primary School Fete. Bill, Kevin, Veronica and her husband Tony were there to set the trailer up and to then provide music and announcements for the event. We finished with some cheesy dance tracks which seemed to go down well with both the children and adults, all dancing away on the school field. John joined the team at the end of the event to help pack everything away.
The month ended with a double event day. On 28 June Dave, Lorraine, Olga, Tommy & John attended The Broughton Cycling Sportive with the trailer, whilst Tom, Bill, Neil & Kevin took the gazebo to the Long Buckby Car Show & Fete.
To do two events on the same day is amazing and only possible because of the dedication of a small core team of volunteers! We thank you all.
Also a huge thank you to Phil of Town & Country Plumbing and Heating for taking our trailer to events and collecting it again afterwards. We couldn’t do these events without him and we really appreciate his help.
