Hospital Radio Horton has recently received £286 courtesy of customers of Waitrose, Brackley through its nationwide Community Matters initiative.
First launched by Waitrose in 2008, the scheme has so far donated more than £14 million to local charities across the country, chosen by customers. At the end of a shop, customers receive a token to place in a box of the good cause they would most like to support.
The more tokens a cause receives, the higher the donation. Every month, each Waitrose branch donates £1,000 between 3 local good causes that you choose, and through the efforts of member Mandy Rousell, Radio Horton were chosen as one of the worthy causes.
Radio Horton would like to express gratitude to customers of the Banbury Road based supermarket for their generosity in supporting the station through the Waitrose fundraising scheme. The funds raised are imperative in aiding Radio Horton to ensure the hospital radio service it provides to patients at the Horton General Hospital can continue for many years to come.
