Just one week remains for patients and their loved ones from across the Banbury area to nominate Horton hospital staff who have delivered outstanding care to them over the past year for a new recognition award.
The Patients’ Choice Award, run by Oxford University Hospitals (OUH) NHS Foundation Trust, is an opportunity for patients to thanks members of staff who have delivered exceptional care at the Horton or any of its three other hospitals in Oxford – the John Radcliffe, Churchill and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre.
“We have had an excellent response so far, and have received many moving and heart-warming nominations,” said Mark Power, the Trust’s Director of Organisational Development and Workforce.
“These nominations are a testament to the compassion, hard work and dedication of our many doctors, nurses and hospital staff in other professional and support roles, who deliver great care to the public each and every day.
“It means so much to our staff to be told they are appreciated by the people they serve, so I would encourage anyone who feels that someone has gone the extra mile in treating them or their loved ones to let us know,” he said.
Nominations for the Patients’ Choice Award close on Friday 30 September. An independent panel of patients will select the overall winners, who will be publicly celebrated at the Trust’s annual Staff Recognition Awards event in December.
Nominations can be submitted at www.ouh.nhs.uk/patientschoice or by e-mailing [email protected].
OUH is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the UK, employs over 12,000 staff and has more than one million patient contacts every year. As well as providing general hospital services, it also serves patients from across the country for specialist services not available elsewhere.
