Radio Horton proudly celebrates fifty years of hospital radio on 7th July 2014. In celebration, the station has organised a four-day line up of events and special programmes.
From Friday 4th July – Sunday 7th July Radio Horton will be LIVE IN THE COMMUNITY from some of its sponsors:

10.00am – broadcasting live from Star UK Travel, (Sponsors of Request Time) in Broad Street – with John and Maria Mayo
2.00pm – broadcasting live from the Carriage Company, (Sponsors of the Chart Show) in Calthorpe Street – with Stewart Green and Ian Fleming
Saturday 5th July
10.00am – live broadcast from Trinder’s Toy and Model Shop, (Main sponsor of Radio Horton) in Broad Street – with James Hulbert and Sam Smette
2.00pm – live broadcast from The Ridings Care Home, home of founder Ted Hanson MBE (the Lord Mayor of Banbury will be in attendance), (Sponsors of the The Golden Years) in Calder Close,
Off Daventry Road – with Bob Dainty and Lisa Simmons (Ted Hanson will also be in attendance)
4pm-8pm, at Standbridge Hall in Banbury – private Social event for all Radio Horton members – members only. June Snowden, President of the Hospital Broadcasting Association, will present a number of Long Service Awards to volunteers at the station who have generously donated their time freely for 10 years or more.
Sunday 6th July
11.00am – Stewie’s Sunday Funday meets Easy Sunday, with Stewart Green and Al Smart bringing their programmes together. Stewart and Al team up for an interesting three hours, they will also be going live to the People’s Park in Banbury to join in with the atmosphere at this year’s Town Mayor’s Sunday event
Monday 7th July (actual birthday)
There will be an open studio on this day. Around 70 guests are expected throughout the day including a live interview with Sir Tony Baldry from 8.30am/9am onwards.
