The co-founder of north Oxfordshire’s hospital Radio Horton, Ted Hanson (MBE) sadly passed away on the morning of Tuesday 5th May.

Ted had been suffering from a long-term illness and had recently been relocated from The Ridings Care Home, to the Green Pastures Care Home on the Oxford Road in Banbury.
Speaking at the request of Ted’s family, and on behalf of the Radio Horton Committee, Committee Member/Trustee and personal friend of Ted’s, Bob Dainty, said: “This is a huge loss for the station. Ted was a wonderful, kind and generous man who cared deeply about Radio Horton and its future. We will miss him terribly. But his legacy will always live on at the station.”
Ted’s passing comes just one month after he won the prestigious John Whitney Award from the Hospital Broadcasting Association (HBA), for 50 years of service to hospital radio broadcasting. Radio Horton celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2014.
The Radio Horton Committee would like to send its deepest condolences to Ted’s family and friends at this difficult time.
