Banbury’s hospital radio station, Radio Horton has donated £375 towards equipment and services at the Horton General Hospital following two successful fundraising events over the Christmas season.
The money donated was raised at the annual Sainsbury’s festive fundraiser and a morning bag-pack at Morrison’s. The funds will go towards the hospital’s charitable funds account and will assist the hospital in budgeting for future development projects and equipment.
Radio Horton Members Bill and Jeanette Warren presented the cheque to the Horton Hospital’s Fundraising Project Manager, Yolanda Jacob.
Yolanda commented: “I would like to say a huge thank you to Radio Horton for the kind and generous donation of £375 to the Horton General Hospital. It is very much appreciated. We really appreciate everything you do for the Hospital.”
Radio Horton has been fundraising for the hospital at Sainsbury’s for over 26 years, and to date, together with other events, has raised in excess of £25,000.
Sainsbury’s store Manager, Nick Rusher said: “Fantastic to hear that Radio Horton have recently donated £375 to the Horton Hospital, a great effort from the team over the Christmas period in collecting at our store, once again the customers of Sainsbury’s Banbury have been extremely generous for a great cause.”
Radio Horton Events Coordinator, Bill Warren added: “It was both an honour and a privilege to be able to hand over the cheque to the Horton General Hospital. I would like to thank local supermarkets for their cooperation, along with the help of our dedicated team of volunteers. However, the biggest thank you must go to the kind and caring members of the public who have always supported Radio Horton. You make it possible for us to provide the best service we can for the patients of the Horton Hospital.”
